Mini rant:

Okay SO

What’s the deal with people saying, “Oh, how do you find them attractive, they’re old with grey hair and wrinkles!!??!??1” ?

It’s like there’s this whole ‘expiration date’ idea that, once we hit the 40-year-old mark (heck, even 30) people begin to label you ‘undesirable’, ‘unattractive’, ‘ugly’. I HATE IT.

WHYYYYY do we have to get crap for saying that older people are attractive? It’s so annoying, and repulsive. We are always aging. Signs of “bad” aging are seen less than halfway through your life. The idea that you can’t be called sexy or hot or handsome or beautiful by society when you haven’t even lived half your life is ridiculous.

So, yeah, there’s that.

(this whole rant comes from a comment on a Martin Freeman interview video on youtube where someone was baffled as to why people call him ‘cute’. LIKE WHAT DO YOU HAVE EYES)

Last “actual” day of high school tomorrow!

And it’s kind of a funny feeling, since I’m not sad or anything. I liked high school, but I didn’t like it THAT much. To be quite honest, I lost lots of friends over the past 4 years because of our differing interests, and I never felt like a part of my class, but rather I always felt like an outsider. So really, it’s a relief to get away from the people I’ve grown up with for 12 years who never acknowledge my existance, and to find new people in college to form bonds with that will hopefully last a lifetime.

I’m just really excited for the future! :D

Day 1: How did you discover LOTR? Tell us about it.

My grandpa (who we call ‘papa’) is actually the person who first introduced me to the whole thing. He had read the books and had seen the first movie, and I forget how, but he watched the first movie with me and I was very entertained. I was only in 3rd grade, so some parts scared me, but one of my other friends loved the movies as well and we dove into them together soon afterwards.

After that, we both got hooked and got to see the second and third movies on the big screen. I remember us both freaking out over how amazing the battle scenes in ROTK were, and how inspiring it was when Sam carried Frodo up Mount Doom. I was still a young teen but I remember getting teary-eyed at the end (of course now I completely break out into sobs, but you know xD).
